JioHotstar: Live event measurement at scale

With the news of Sizmek and AAS sunsetting, Escape Velocity (EV), a trusted partner for major sports and live-event advertisers, turned to Innovid to deliver premium measurement solutions. Through EV’s long-standing relationship with JioHotstar, India’s leading streaming platform with more than 160 million unique viewers and the exclusive home of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Innovid would now measure the world’s most-watched cricket tournament. As one of only two exclusive measurement partners, it was the perfect environment to prove the value of independent, transparent measurement at a massive scale.
Live-event measurement can be challenging—viewership spikes create concurrency, matches run daily with multiple ad loads, and platforms, including JioHotstar, often restrict third-party hosting. Despite these constraints, Innovid closed the gap by delivering our ad server impression-level visibility and independence, enabling reporting across billions of impressions in real time. Together, we:
- Provided measurement across the entire IPL season, consisting of 74 matches
- Supported 100+advertisers during the season
- Delivered innovative reporting using log-level IP data, helping advertisers approximate reach in the absence of UID-based solutions
- Established new strategic connections, exploring opportunities to leverage Innovid’s global Disney partnership to expand measurement innovation with JioHotstar

The result? Independent measurement at an unprecedented scale. Across the 2025 IPL season, Innovid tracked:
- 900 million average daily impressions across match days
- 2 billion+ impressions on the June 3 final alone, which drew 892 million views
- 49 million peak concurrency on the final match day
- 100+advertisers supported through EV’s reseller business
These results underscore not only the cultural and advertising magnitude of IPL but also the critical need for scalable, independent measurement in high-demand environments. Innovid gave advertisers clarity on reach and performance, confidence in ROAS, and a blueprint for future live-event measurement globally.
